Día del Niño/Children day

Hoy salí a tomar una foto a propósito del Día del Niño aunque sabía que no la iba a encontrar en un barrio donde los niños no van a los parques y donde exigen un regalo caro, y así fué. Tomé la foto de un parque vacío pero la encontré demasiado deprimente para publicar. Por eso elegí esta foto que tomé en Caleta Tortel. Un niño jugando con un pequeño bote de madera atado a un palo, y el bote va cargado con piedras y maderas. Los botes los hacen ellos mismos. En Caleta Tortel todo está asociado al mar y al río y la aspiración de los niños allá es poseer su propio bote algún día y salir a buscar ciprés. Esta es la foto; no un niño jugando con un bote sino un niño jugando a ser hombre.

Today I went out to take a photo with regard to Children Day although I knew that I was not going to find one in a neighborhood where the children do not go to parks and where they demand an expensive gift, and thus it was. I took the photo from an empty park but I found it too depressive to publish. For that reason I chose this photo that I took in Tortel Creek. A boy playing with a small wood boat tied to a stick, and the boat is loaded with stones and pieces of wood. They built their boats do they. In Tortel Creek everything is associate to the sea and to the river and the aspiration of the children there is to have his own boat someday and to sail to look for cypress. This is the photo; a boy not playing with a boat but a boy playing being man.
