Hoy intenté tornear unos pocillos inspirado en un video de Ken Matsuzaki. Son pocillos para te pero curiosamente me es más difícil este estilo más libre.
Today I tried to throw some bowls inspired by a video of Ken Matsuzaki. These are tea cups but curiously for me is more difficult this freer style.

Se trabaja sobre una gran pella de pasta y la primera dificultad es hacerlos de un tamaño parecido.
The pieces are throwed on a large lump of clay and, the first difficulty is make them in a similar size.

Jueves de cerámica/ Pottery thursday

Dos de las primeras piezas para lamparas de aceite ahora bizcochadas.
Two of the first pieces for oil lamps now fired to biscuit.

Estas son las otras piezas, en este caso hechas a partir de una fuente abierta, cerradas con una placa convexa y con tapas portamecha.
These are the other pieces, these one made as an open bowl, closed with a convex slab and with small lids for the wicks.

La última pieza fué terminada como una pequeña tetera.
The last piece was finished as a small teapot.

Parque de diversiones/ Amusement park

Estas fotos también son de ayer. Este parque aún no estaba abierto al público pero mejor aún, siempre hay algo muy especial en un parque de diversiones sin gente especialmente este que a pesar de verse abandonado por años está en funcionamiento.
These photos are also from yesterday. This park was not yet open to the public but even better, there is something very special about an amusement park without people, especially this one that it seems abandoned for years but realy is still in operation.

Finalmente esta con personas pero igual un tanto perturbadora según mi opinion.
Finally this with people in the shot but still kind lf creepy in my opinion.

Hoy 18 de Septiembre es nuestro día nacional en Chile, y una tradición acá es el rodeo.
Today September 18 is our National Day in Chile, and a tradition here is the rodeo.

Aproveché de usar el lente Lensbaby que hace tiempo ni uso y en general usaba solo en modo macro.
I took out my Lensbaby lens which I haven't use since long time and generally I use it only in macro mode.

Primera vez que uso el Lensbaby en fotos de acción y el resultado es bastante bueno aunque cuesta enfocar.
This is the first time I use the Lensbaby in action shots and the result is pretty good although it is difficult to focus.

Nuestra versión de rodeo es bastante distinta de la conocida en Estados Unidos.
You can see that our version of Rodeo is quite different from that known in the United States.

 Esta foto de acción ahora es con el granangular a velocidad baja.
For this action photo I used a wide angle lens at low speed.

Este es el recinto para nuestro rodeo llamado media luna porque esa es la forma donde se corren los caballos.
This is the site for our rodeo which is called half moon because this is the shape where they run the horses.

Plato esmaltado/ Glazed plate

 Ayer me entregaron este plato esmaltado y quedé muy satisfecho con el resultado, por eso hice otro plato que publiqué ayer para repetir este esmaltado.
Yesterday they gave me this plate glazed from the kiln. I'm very pleased with the result, so I made the other one which I posted yesterday to repeat this glazing.

Es un esmalte turquesa brillante sobre un cafe dorado mate, por fuera es negro mate.
It is a shinny turquoise glaze over a golden brown matte, a matte black is on the outside.

A mi profesor no le gustan las espirales y prefiere circulos concéntricos pero yo lo prefiero así.
My teacher does not like spirals, he prefers concentric circles, but I do like this way.

Hoy, entre otras cosas hice este plato de unos 42 cm.
Today, beside other things, I made this plate, about 42 cm wide.

Jueves de cerámica. lamparas/ Pottery thursday, oil lamps

Estas son las dos piezas que comencé la semana pasada, dos lámparas de aceite ahora retorneadas con las tapas donde irán las mechas.

These are the two pieces which I started last week, two oil lamps, now trimed and caps for the wicks.

Hoy dejé torneadas seis piezas como estas para más lámparas pero en este caso la parte superior va a ser hecha con placas y pegadas después.

Today I throwed six pieces for more lamps but in this case the top will be made with slabs and attached later.

Ollas azules /Blue pots

Ahora con mi estudio fotográfico puedo empezar a postear nuevamente fotos de mis piezas de cerámica terminadas.

Now, with my photo studio, I can start posting again pictures of my pottery pieces.

Originalmente empezaron como fuentes pero la forma sugerían ollas por le que les agregué asas y tapas.

Originally both started as bowls but the shape suggested pots so, I only added handles and lids.

Estas son las dos ollas con tapa, terminadas y esmaltadas.

These are the two pots with lids, just finished and glazed.

Las dos tienen el mismo esmalte azul pero una con interior blanco mate y la otra negro.

Both have the same blue glaze, but one is glazed white inside and the other black.

También terminé de esmaltar este recipiente que quedó con los mismos colores.

I also got this bowl glazed with the same colors.

Solo una foto para el jueves de cerámica, una de dos pruebas para hacer una lámpara de aceite. Curiosamente hacer una pieza pequeña me está costando más que piezas grandes.
Only one photo for tuday's Pottery Thursday, one of two models for an oil lamp. Curiously making a small piece is taking me more effort than larger pieces.
