Resumen del viaje/ A brief recapitulation

El viaje ya terminó y quizás es hora de un pequeño recuento. Este fué mi primer viaje al Norte Grande y es realmente hermoso, una belleza distinta al sur que conozco. El resultado para el archivo fotográfico también es positivo, logré bastantes fotos buenas. En el aspecto personal también el recuento es postivo, compartí con una parte de mi familia un tanto alejada, viajé en compañia de una persona muy querida. Me siento en paz y siento que he crecido un poco más.
The trip is over and maybe it is time for some recapitulation. This was my first trip to the Far North and it is really beautiful, a different kind of beauty than the south I know. In the photography aspect I got plenty of good photos. In the personal aspect it was also positive: I shared with a part of my family I had never been before, I traveled in company of a dear person, I met new people. I'm feeling in peace and I believe I have grown a little more.

Último día/ Last day, La Serena Santiago

Llegó el momento de regresar y aproveché de ingresar por el camino del Parque Nacional Bosque Fray Jorge logrando las últimas fotos.
Time to return, so, I used some spare time to enter Fray Jorge Forest National Park to take the last photos.

En Punilla, un poblado en el camino hacia el bosque, un burro se usa para tirar este carro.

Otra casa abandonada de tantas que se ven en estos caminos.

Esta otra casa está en mejor estado pero y pareciera que aún esta en uso pero no se si como habitación o bodega.
This house is in better condition, it seems that this is not in use for live in just to storage.

Día 10/ Day 10, Antofagasta

Hoy ha sido un día tranquilo haciendo trámites y mantención del auto así que solo unas pocos fotos de Antofagasta urbano antes de emprender los últimos 1500 kilómetros de este viaje.
Today has been a quiet day doing paperwork and maintenance to the car so only a few photos of Antofagasta city before start the last 1500 kilometers of this trip.

Dia 9/ Day 9, San Pedro de Atacama

El viaje de hoy fué a los Geyseres del Tatio, pueblo de Machuca, Valle de la Luna y regreso a Antofagasta, 4320 metros sobre el nivel del mar hasta 0 msnm en un solo día.
Today's trip was to Tatio Geysers, Machuca Village, Valley of the Moon and return to Antofagasta, 4320 meters above sea level to 0 m in one day.

El sol comienza a iluminar pero el aire sigue helado, alrededor del agua hirviendo la que cae se congela.

The sun begins to illuminate but the air is still cold, the geyser is steaming and the water freezes around.

Día 7/ Day7 , Antofagasta San Pedro de Atacama

Hoy hice el tramo Antofagasta San Pedro de Atacama, un tramo muy desértico y un subida muy fuerte hasta los 3.300 msnm. y descendiendo hasta los 2440 msnm. en San Pedro.
Today I traveled from Antofagasta to San Pedro de Atacama, a desertic zone as the roads climbs to 3300 m above sea level and descends to 2440 m in San Pedro.

Aún quedan restos de las oficinas salitreras a lo largo del camino pero nadie se ha preocupado de conservarlas.
There are still remnants of saltpeter offices along the way but no one is concerned to save them.

En otra de las oficinas encontré esta imagen, no me puedo imaginar quién puede haber dejado estos muebles y en este arreglo.
In another ghost town I found this picture, I can not imagine who have left these furnitures and in this settlement.

En el camino de subida me encontré dos trenes metaleros, uno subía descargado y el otro bajaba con una carga de cobre.
On the road, I found two trains, one climbing unloaded and the other descending with a load of copper.

La costa norte de Chile absolutamente seca, sin nada de vegetación kilometros antes de llegar a Chañaral.
The northern coast of Chile absolutely dry, with no vegetation kilometers before reaching Chañaral.

Un tren cargado de minerales atraviesa el desierto, dos máquinas lo arrastran y una tercera máquina en la cola.
